With seven months yet to go, it may seem like it's a bit early to be thinking about, planning and prepping for, or dreaming of your week on the playa. Wrong!

Confused? Don't worry, you're not the only one. Is it about aliens? Yes! Is it about first-world countries affecting third-world cultures with unsustainable technology? Yes! Is it about our species tendency toward greed for tech gadgets and goodies? Yes! There are a lot of levels to this one, and I think it's awesome! The Cargo Cult theme is sure to inspire some excellent and thought-provoking art.
Here in our neck of the woods we've been doing a lot of bike-hunting and acquiring. Why so early? As the year progresses, it gets harder to find good, inexpensive, playa-friendly bikes. Too many years now I've had newbie friends or folks traveling from other places that were forced to buy bikes last-minute and got ripped off. This year we decided to skip the stress and scrambling and get on the ball early. I'm glad we did!
Which has me thinking about BIKES and what you need for them.
Bike gear list:
*Extra tire inner tubes
*Front and tail lights
*At least one string of EL wire or LEDs for the frame
*Combination lock
*Luggage tag with name and camp address
More lights! spoke lights, party lights, etc.
Cushy seat cover
Decor - faux flowers, faux fur, toys, flags, colorful duct tape, etc.
Bell or horn
* - denotes necessary item(s)
As the mood moves me I'll continue to add posts. Quite a few folks have already asked me for my gear list... It's going to take a minute to compile that, but once I do I'll share it with you!
